Necromancer Bone Spear Leveling Guide (1-50)

Necromancer Bone Spear Leveling Guide (1-50)
Overview
- Bone Spear Necromancer is an incredibly strong build throughout all stages of the game. They have great range and can dish out some ridiculous single-target and AoE damage. Bone Spear is going to be our main source of damage.
- We take Corpse Explosion as an alternate form of AoE dps and as a way to generate some extra essence when trying to kill packs. In the end-game variation of this build, we will drop Corpse Explosion, but it is an incredible resource in the early stages of the game.
- This build has a lot of great group utility as well. Corpse Tendrils is an amazing grouping tool. On top of this, we can drop a Decrepify to Slow enemies and also decrease the damage they deal. Our golem is also very useful and will provide some extra crowd control with its taunt.

Book of the Dead
- Skeletal Warriors

- Sacrificing Skirmishers will give us an increase to our critical strike chance, which is a crucial stat for this build.
- Skeletal Mages

- Sacrificing our Cold Mages will grant us x15% increased damage to Vulnerable enemies. Since we guarantee Vulnerability with Bone Spear, this is a large damage increase for this build.
- Golem

- Blood Golem will give us some extra damage mitigation. Golem also benefits from our Bone Storm, so we do not want to sacrifice it.
Leveling Aspects (Codex of Power)
These aspects can be grabbed throughout your leveling process and should be thrown on Jewelry slots when leveling.
Offensive:
- The Splintering Aspect is going to be an incredible aspect for us to pick up. It causes our Bone Spear to make all enemies hit Vulnerable with the primary attack and causes the Bone Shards to deal additional damage to Vulnerable enemies as well as pierce them. This can be picked up by progressing through the campaign in the Dry Steppes. This should be placed in your Amulet.

- Another fantastic aspect is the Aspect of Grasping Veins. This causes our Corpse Tendrils to give us a massive increase to Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage. It synergizes so well with this build and is a must. This can be picked up in the Corrupted Grotto in Kehjistan. This should be placed in your ring.

Resource:
- Aspect of Torment is an early aspect that we can grab in the Black Asylum in Fractured Peaks. This aspect causes Critical Strikes with Bone Skills to increase our Essence Regeneration or 4 seconds. Since we have high crit chance with this build, this gives us access to more essence to try to benefit from our key passive, Aspect of Serration, and Edgemaster’s Aspect.

Other Useful Aspects for the Codex
Offensive:
- Edgemaster’s Aspect, which can be found in the Oldstones in Scosglen, will synergize well with this build. Since we are always trying to cast our skills at high Essence, we benefit greatly from this damage bonus.

Defensive:
- One great general defensive aspect that can be utilized in almost any build for extra tankiness is the Aspect of Disobedience. This aspect gives us a stacking buff that increases our armor when we take damage. This can be found in the Halls of the Damned in Kehjistan.

- In boss fights, we typically want to play a bit closer to the boss and try to utilize our Bone Splinters critical strike chance increase. If an enemy gets hit at least 3 times with the same cast, we gain an 8% critical strike chance buff. Since we will be using our basic skill to try to maintain this damage buff, we will run Aspect of Might, which grants our basic skills 20% damage reduction. This can be found through progressing the campaign in Dry Steppes.

Mobility:
- Last but not least, we will be running Wind Striker Aspect for some extra movement speed when critically striking. This can be found in the Shivta Ruins in Kehjistan.

Other Helpful Aspects
These aspects could help us when leveling. You can equip these if they are on an item better than what you currently have equipped, but when you are ready to replace it, make sure to extract these powers since they will be useful later on in the game.
Offensive:
- Aspect of Serration is an RNG drop that we will be hunting for. This causes our ossified Key Passive to also increase the Critical Strike Damage of our Bone Skills depending on the amount of Essence we have when we cast it.

Defensive:
- Another great defensive option is Aspect of Shielding Storm. Since we are using Bone Storm and hoping for some high uptime because of Rapid Ossification, we can generate some extra Barrier when damaging enemies with Bone Storm to add some additional tankiness. If you feel like you do not have enough uptime with Bone Storm, consider dropping Edgemaster’s Aspect for Osseous Gale Aspect, which will consume corpses to increase the duration of Bone Storm.

Resource:
- Another great aspect for essence generation is the Aspect of Exposed Flesh. This gives us a lucky hit chance to generate Essence when hitting a Vulnerable enemy with our Bone Skills. Since Bone Spear guarantees Vulnerability, we will always have this lucky hit chance to generate extra essence.
