Poolnoodlex's Best Season 2 Starters

A fresh season in Diablo IV means a new set of fun customizable starter builds from Poolnoodlex. So let's jump in and see how you can start your Diablo IV Season 2 journey off smooth!

Sorcerer

For Season 2 Poolnoodlex is running Firewall. This build takes a few levels to really lock in with Firewall as your main damage skill. Pool recommends starting with Chain Lightning first and then switching over to Firewall as your main damage dealer at either level 10 if you have your renown completed, or level 20 without renown.

This build's early damage is insane, it brings massive AOE damage to the table while also providing very solid single-target damage to melt bosses. Alongside Firewall, Pool runs Inferno as the ultimate for massive damage, then Frost Nova, Teleport, Ice Armor, and Flame Shield all as supporting abilities. These skills give the build a ton of survivability ensuring that you don’t get wiped the second a large pack of elites or even the butcher spawns in. Furthermore, what makes this build great as a starter is that all of the supporting legendary aspects can be farmed the moment you hit level 25. Pool relies on the Prodigy’s Aspect which grants mana whenever you use cooldowns. This is a bonus you get to take massive advantage of because all of your supporting skills use cooldowns.

Druid

For the Druid, Pool runs a Pulverize build. While this build is lacking in the single target damage department it has really strong AOE and is very easy to play. For skills, Pool runs Stormstrike with the vulnerability modifier for resource generation, Pulverize as the main damage dealer, Trample and Poison Creeper for the huge AOE damage, Earthen Bullwork for the tankiness, and then Grizzly Rage for the Ultimate.

For Legendary Aspects, Pool runs Shockwave aspect which grants a forward traveling shockwave off every cast of Pulverize for massive additional AOE damage and Ursine Horror which further enhances Pulverize by leaving tectonic spikes that deal additional damage for 2 seconds. This build can quickly scale into the late game so feel free to customize things to your liking and really turn this into the shapeshifting AOE powerhouse it’s meant to be!

Necromancer

For Necromancer, Pool runs a Blood Surge summoner build. This build brings great AOE and Single-target damage to the table, it also has the added bonus of being able to summon skeletons which is AWESOME!

For the Skeletal Minions, Pool runs Reapers and Mages for their corpse generation and powerhouse damage, for the Golem Pool, Pool chooses Blood which brings some nice defensive buffs to the table. For the skills, Pool runs Reap as a generator a solid source of corpses, Blood Surge as the main damage dealer, Corpse Tendrils for the AOE CC, and Blood Mist as an emergency defensive skill for when things get scary.

For Legendary Aspects, Pool runs Edgemasters for the solid additional damage, and Blood Bathed which makes Blood Surge double cast for even more massive AOE damage. This build scales great into the late game and can easily roll into the ever-sought-after Infinimist build.

Barbarian

For Barbarian, Pool runs Whirlwind as it provides solid single-target damage and really strong AOE, at least in the early game. For skills, Pool runs Lunging Strike as a generator, Whirlwind as the main damage source, Charge because it’s fun and provides good CC, and all three shouts including Rallying Cry, Challenging Shout, and War Cry, each for their powerful bonuses, and to use them as fury generators.

For Legendary Aspects, Pool first runs Echoing Fury, which makes shout skills generate fury while active. This is why he runs all three shouts as they become powerful forms of fury generation so you can Whirlwind way longer than you’d normally be able to. Additionally, Pool runs Aspect of the Dire Whirlwind which increases Whirlwind’s critical strike chance up to a 24% bonus the longer it is active, and Edgemasters for the additional damage.

This is another starting build that can continue to evolve over your playthrough and, with the right setup, can feel great in the late game.

Rogue

For Rogue, Pool runs Flury which provides really strong AOE and single target damage. For skills Pool runs Flury as a main damage source, Puncture as a basic skill and a solid source of vulnerability, Dash for high mobility, Shadow Step for additional mobility and a source of unstoppable, Concealment as an escape, and Shadow Imbuement for insane additional AOE damage. Pool also runs Combo Points which provides a ton of additional damage.

For Legendary Aspects, Pool runs Encircling Blades which modifies Flury to damage in a circle around you, also increasing its damage. Pool also runs Edgemasters for the increased damage and Aspect of the Expectant which increases damage with core skills after casting a basic skill, increasing up to a cap with the number of basic skills cast. This synergizes really well with Combo Points because you’re looking to cast at least 3 basic skills before casting your core skill to maximize damage.
