Shred Druid Leveling Guide (1-50)

Overview

  • This build takes advantage of two aspects that we can pick up early to add a nice increase to our Shred damage. This is a great way to blast through the content before transitioning into some other builds that tend to shine later in the leveling process.
  • This build utilizes companions to help us with the leveling process, granting us some extra fortify and a massive AoE poison and Immobilize.
  • On top of the Poison we get from Poison Creepers, we also use Rabies and Raging Shred to apply a large amount of poison damage. If you are lucky enough to find the Aspect of the Blurred Beast, Shred will consume a large percent of the poison damage you stack on enemies for some incredible burst.

Spirit Boons

  • In the Deer tree, Wariness gives us 10% reduced damage from Elites and is an incredible option to add some tankiness to the build.
  • In the Eagle tree, we take Scythe Talons and Avian Wrath since critical strikes synergize really well with this build.
  • In the Wolf tree, we take Packleader, this causes Critical Strikes to reset our Companion Skills cooldowns.
  • Lastly, in the Snake tree, we will take Masochist, which makes our Critical Strikes with Shapeshifting Skills heal you for 3% of you maximum life.

Leveling Aspects (Codex of Power)

These aspects can be grabbed throughout your leveling process and should be thrown on Jewelry slots when leveling.

Offensive:

  • The first aspect that you need to pick up can be found in Anica’s Claim in Fractured Peaks. The Stormclaw’s Aspect causes Critical Strikes with Shred to deal additional lightning damage to surrounding enemies. This will be a decent damage increase and help us with AoE. This should be placed on a Ring.
  • Another important aspect to pick up is the Shepherd’s Aspect from the Bloodsoaked Crag dungeon in Dry Steppes. This will give us a nice bonus to our core skills for each companion that we have. This should be placed on an Amulet.

Resource:

  • The Aspect of the Unsatiated can be found in the Tormented Ruins in Fractured Peaks. This can be picked up in Act 1 alongside the Stormclaw’s Aspect and will be a great way to start leveling. This aspect gives us a nice damage buff on Shred. If you feel tanky enough but are struggling with Spirit generation, swap out Storm Strike for Claw to benefit from the 20-30% increase to Spirit Generation.

Other Useful Aspects for the Codex

Offensive:

  • Another aspect you can grab if you need extra damage is the Edgemaster’s Aspect in the Oldstones dungeon in Scosglen. Matching this with Aspect of the Unsatiated will give us a nice damage increase since we will have pretty solid and reliable spirit regen.

Defensive:

  • Vigorous aspect is a must for this build since we will be in Werewolf form quite often. This aspect can be found in the Steadfast Barracks dungeon in Hawezar and grants us a Damage Reduction buff while we are in Werewolf form.
  • Another aspect we can utilize is the Aspect of Might, which can be found in the Dark Ravine dungeon in Dry Steppes. This aspect gives us a 20% damage reduction buff when we use our basic skill. This also synergizes really well with Storm Strike since it already gives us a 25% damage reduction buff on use.
  • The last aspect we want is the Aspect of Disobedience, which can be found in the Halls of the Damned in Kehjistan. This gives us a stacking armor buff when we take damage.

Mobility:

  • Wind Striker Aspect is a no brainer option for this build. Since we have high Critical Strike Chance, this aspect will grant us a nice, stacking movement speed buff that we should be able to have consistent uptime on. This can be found in the Shivta Ruins dungeon in Kehjistan.

Other Helpful Aspects

These aspects could help us when leveling. You can equip these if they are on an item better than what you currently have equipped, but when you are ready to replace it, make sure to extract these powers since they will be useful later on in the game.

Offensive:

  • One RNG drop that will provide a massive damage increase to this build is the Aspect of the Blurred Beast. This causes our shred to seek out nearby Poisoned Enemies and instantly deal a large percent of the Poison Damage on the target.
  • Accelerating Aspect is another RNG aspect that grants us an attack speed buff on critical strikes. Since this build utilizes critical strikes quite a bit, this aspect is a big DPS increase.

Alternative Leveling Guides

  • Pulverize is a great leveling option granted you have the proper legendaries. If your RNG has been terrible and you feel weak, the Aspect of the Ursine Horror can be found in Belfry Zakara in Hawezar. You can pair this with Aspect of Retaliation from the Seaside Descent in Dry Steppes, the Crashstone aspect from the Stockades in Scoslen, and the Aspect of the Rampaging Werebeast in the Endless Gates in Hawezar. This could take some time to put together, but with all of these you’re on the road to a quite powerful build. .
  • If you find the Stormchaser’s Aspect, you should level with Tornado. This is probably going to be one of the best leveling builds for Druid. Do remember, it is very cheap to respec, so do not feel like you are stuck and locked into one build.
